This Many Faces of Anita Blake line is by Buffy.fan.
First off, I'd like to make it clear that that interview was made up. This was never done, and I do not work for Laurell K. Hamilton. The toys are not happening
Standard Anita began life as Lara Croft, from the Tomb Raider movie line. She may looks simple but I did quite a lot to her. Firstly, I sanded away the boots, and built up the trousers over her shorts and legs. I cut both arms off at the base of the sleeve, adding articulation at this point to both, and also straightening out one of them, to allow the jacket to slip on. I cut off her plat, and replaced that with a Milliput ponytail. The holster is made up of the strap of her rucksack (which was hard to remove btw) and one of her leg holsters. The jacket is stitched (by me) from some fake leather stuff. It is put on by removing the arms at the base of the sleeve, and then reinserting them once the jacket is over her torso.
Next is 'Business Anita', or 'Big Head' Anita, as I like to call her. The head for this (Lara Croft again) is a bit too big for the body (Scully from X-Files - thanks to Liz Kennedy for this!) but never mind. I sanded away the jacket details, making them into a blouse and skirt. I also sanded down the legs, removing the trousers. I cut away the hair again and resculpted it over her shoulders. The mug came from a dolls house shop, I just painted it.
Animated series Anita, or "ape Anita" was originally a free McDonalds toy, the short girl from Disney's Atlantis. She was wearing a hat, so I had to sand that away, and sculpt longer hair. I also sculpted some clothes onto her, and made her slightly less androgynous, by sculpting some breasts, as Anita has often commented that if there's one thing she doesn't; need, it's bigger breasts. So to leave her with none at all was just wrong. I cut the hands off at the gloves, and added articulation to allow them to be rotated into an 'animating' position. That's supposed to be blood on her hands, were I dripped red paint.
Mini Anita was a free Butt Ugly Martian toy from a cereal package. She was wearing a helmet, which I sanded away and sculpted some hair. I also turned her skateboard into the gravestone (by painting it). The rest was just repainting. My brother calls her "Goth Anita" because of the lines under her eyes.
Lego Anita is just a selection of Lego bits I found that looked appropriate. Many many thanks to Callisto for making that excellent Toyfare cover!!
